Intercultural communication is our daily experience during our studies and in research. We are therefore pleased to invite you to an exciting event that will sharpen your view of intercultural communication from different perspectives and give inspirations to our international research, learning and teaching activities.

“From vibration to communication: the science of the voice“
„In this talk, we will explore the interdisciplinary nature of phoniatrics, showcasing examples of both basic and applied research on voice production. We will examine diagnostics and measurement techniques, as well as discuss experimental and clinical studies that advance our understanding of the human voice. By bridging theory and practice, this talk highlights how voice research contributes to innovative approaches in both assessment and therapy.“

“How to communicate successfully in a cross-cultural environment”
Being aware of intercultural differences is one of the key factors for successful communication in an international environment. Where exactly do these differences lie and how do we overcome them? And why are the Germans always so short in their answers and rude in their tone?

Afterwards, we invite you to a panel discussion in which we will highlight the key challenges and opportunities of intercultural communication. Exchange ideas with experts and participants from different fields and with different perspectives on the topic. Take part in the discussion with PD Dr.-Ing. Marion Semmler, Kerstin Sommer, Claudia Barnickel, Dr. Lena Gmelch and Paulus Guter for discussion.
